Tony Robinson utilises rarely seen 3D stereographic period photographs to explore the untold history of the American `wild west' from the diverse tribal cultures to European immigration and General Custer and his last stand at the Battle of Big Horn.

Process

We brought to life hundreds of photographs from Museum archives using parallax animation techniques to emulate the experience of stereoscopic photography. The process involved hours of hand cut rotoscoping and scene painting. Placing 3D cameras into scenes enabling the viewer to travel into and around the landscapes and portraits in this truly captivating photography. Combined with stereoscopic work flows for an immersive television experience.
