Expedition Killer Whale / BBC TWO

A team of scientists and filmmakers travel to these freezing waters to find out more about these unique animals and how they do it. And one of the scientists is looking for one killer whale in particular. But their mission is not just to deepen our understanding of this extraordinary hunting behaviour. The team are also intent on learning more about the secret – and more tender side – of the lives of these killer whales.

The task was to create a simple brand that lets the stunning cinematography exist on its own merit while uniting all elements of the film with a consistent identity on and off air. With a simple nod to the markings of Killer Whales and a font that brought a subtle softness, the work included intro graphics, name captions, animated location maps and lots of vfx compositing shots for screen within screen scenes.
